Love's Ballad
Love came to her to warm her frozen heart.
It began as a candle burning then caused a fire to start.
Its warmth surrounded her, turned her to he
As he loved her soul so deeply and set her spirit free.
The nights inside were warm while the outside was cold
And nothing disturbed the sleeping pair beneath the blanket folds.
When the early morning dew is fresh upon the grass
Two bodies begin to stir behind the fog glazed glass.
The dreams shared begin to take form in the mist
Diamond drops that fall upon her cheeks he kissed.
A tiny life has been made from these two in love
Laughter and tears shared with the angels above
Waiting for that special day for that new start,
The future is shattered and so are the two hearts.
No more is there to be a third from here ever after,
The tears come again, but now there is no shared laughter.

The time healed the unforgotten, shared pain
The lines on the faces don't say the same.
Tragedy has left its mark in the sad worn out eyes
By the brook there is a little grave where a small child lies.
Looking out the window to watch the seasons pass
Noticing the weeds frame the little grave through the glass
Thinking of what would have been if you had not gone
Wondering where it all went wrong
Two lovers of old who have seen the years slip by
Remember the laughing suns and the stars that cried.
Whispering words of love never locked behind closed doors
These two loving figures walk along the beach shore.
Time and Fate their dice they cast
With some forgotten memories, left in the past.
Still he is loving her, keeping her warm
As soon she too will leave him with the coming of the dawn.

When the night falls, two bodies lie together
He thinks about the love he almost had forever.
Suns gentle rays the sound of tears and one beating heart
As the two loving souls, are now despairingly apart.
Dying eyes stare out in to the warm light of sun
Searching in his heart for where it all begun.
He is reassured by the presence of a spirit near by,
Staring towards the two graves by the brook where soon he too shall lie
The vision of a lovely girl appears from behind the stone grave
Smiling at him making his spirit free and weakened heart brave.
She says, "We've been parted from each other too long my dear
And now once again it is time for us to be near.
Reach for my hand, I've come only for you,"
He's young again! "Come with me now, our love has always been true"
Now as a stranger I ask you to look,
Can you see the three stone graves by the flowing brook?
When love has been destined for two special hearts
They will remain together for eternity, even though they are mortally apart.
