The Unicorn
The stars appeared and to the stars I cried
"The last unicorn on this night has died!
No more is innocence to be found here
Instead all you will know now is fear!"

I turned to those gathered silently around,
"Now you shall see what evil will abound.
With the death of your only hope,
There's no way in hell you'll be able to cope!"

"Cope with what?!" one of them cried
"The evil you have created," I replied.
"But we did not know that she was the last!"
"So true, but that will not change the past."

"For so long, ignornace has been your excuse.
It's been your answer for all the abuse!
Well now here's a lesson that you will learn hard,
This world was not for you to destroy and discard!"

Some fell to their knees, sobbing in fear.
I said, "At the dawn of time, all was made clear:
You were to be guardians of this earth
Instead, you have robbed it of all it's worth!

Wisdom, truth, love and trust: where did it all go?
All of it disappeared with your dreams you know"
"But I have my dreams!" one young man stated,
"I dream to be powerful in a world I created!"

I looked at him sadly... they will never learn.
I guess they truly do deserve all they will earn
From destroying love and embracing hate
And not even realising when it's too late.

"This world that you supposedly created,
Since its birth has been ill-fated
The unicorns refused to inhabit your dreams,
They refused to enter your ignorant schemes.

Now they are gone and can never come back
All light's gone from this world, it's totally black.
With the death of the unicorns, this world will die
And dying along with it will be you and I.
